Can you believe summer is half over? Check out the new & inexpensive stuff I have found and make summer last all that much longer!
Just about everyone I know has an IPOD now and if you don’t you should run out and get one! It is the best invention known to man (besides TIVO , and that’s for another fashion guide). Anyway, I just found the CUTEST way to jazz up your ipod (yes, those colored jelly cases are cute…) but a PUCCI case (such bright, fun designs – so Summery!) from COLLETTE in Paris is even better!! What’s even cooler is that COLLETTE is the ONLY place selling them in the world, so when you are groovin’ to your tunes cruising the shops at Fred Segal or Sunset Plaza you will be the envy of everyone (and believe me, people do stop & check it out!) Get one (fast before they sell out) at http://www.colette.fr/index.php and don’t worry if you don’t speak French, shopping is THE universal language & their web site makes it oh so easy. PUCCI IPOD CASE $95 + shipping.
Everyone & their brother knows how much I love Abercrombie & Fitch clothing, but I also love bargain shopping and that’s just what their sister store HOLLISTER is. (kind of like Old Navy is to Gap). Problem is HOLLISTER is hard to find – closest ones to LA area are Brea Mall (huh??) or Topanga Mall. Well, help has arrived – this week HOLLISTER unveiled its new website with shopping on line! I was able to order stuff that’s selling on e-bay for twice the price (its been sold out for weeks in the actual stores) and I didn’t have to leave my desk! Since HOLLISTER is made in junior sizes order up one size from what you normally wear. http://www.hollisterco.com/ when you get to the website click on CLUB CALI and it will take you to shopping on line (why they hide it I do not know…)
Now that you are all set with your cool tunes, and cute clothes how about a fabulous yoga bag? CRESCENT MOON (a cool new company run by fun people who know their stuff!) makes a beautiful leather yoga bag called the METRO MAT BAG. These stylish mat carriers come in red or back with contrasting ivory stitching. The 'hand-bag' style cases are constructed of a buttery-soft full-grain leather with steel fittings and self-healing zippers. The fully lined interior includes a zippered accessory pocket for keys, cash, credit cards, etc. It will easily carry your mat, towel, stretching strap and workout clothes. What more can you ask for? Also check out the no slip yoga socks they have – awesome! http://www.crescentmoonyoga.com/
CRESCENT MOON LEATHER METRO MAT BAG $179.99 + shipping
Everyone in LA is addicted to JOIE pants and tops… I found an inexpensive alternative to the silk cargo pant JOIE makes. TARGET’S MOSSIMO line (yes, “them” again) has copied the JOIE pant in various colors in 100% silk – Love the forest green, cream color and the black! They are only $24.99 each and look wonderful on. The first day I wore mine 3 people at my shoot stopped me and asked where I got them. Since I love a bargain (and I feel everyone’s entitled to one) I of course spread the word! As I always say, if it’s cute & looks awesome who cares “WHERE” it came from!
Here are three more fun summer books I wanted to share with you (all with pink covers – so Elle Woods!) “WACKY CHICKS” by Simon Doonhan is all about cool, eccentric women and embracing your inner rebel. Since these stories were compiled by Simon (creative Director for Barneys New York) you know they are fabulous!! The next book is just fun silly reading “HOW TO BECOME FAMOUS IN TWO WEEKS OR LESS” by Melissa de la Cruz and Karen Robinovitz. Marie Claire gave them this assignment in conjunction with an article for the magazine, now it’s gone even further & is a hilariously funny book. Last but not least is MAN EATER by Gigi Levangie Grazer (yes, producer Brian Grazer’s wife) This is her second book & its really a hysterical read. I don’t want to give away the plot, but lets just say it’s about the “ladies who lunch/starlets” looking for the rich husband in a younger is “better” town and Clarissa at age 32 is feeling a bit “old” to compete!
I hope you all enjoy the rest of Summer!
